Dialer is an useful electronic device which is generally connected to telephone lines to identify the numbers dialed. It may also help in the alteration of these numbers to unique shorter codes then the original number dialed. Thus, it automatically changes the inserted number depending on area code, country code, and time of dialing. And this provides the user a means to get better services at interesting rates. Dialer may be used for various purposes. It may be programmed in a way to permit only international calls or local calls. This usage of phone dialer is termed as Insertion Prefix. A dialer needs no external power it requires power from phone line itself.
Another type of dialer is an easy program that creates a network connection by connecting the pc to the internet or network of computers like local area network or wide area network. The providers primarily do these as they get more money using this fake calling. These dialers actually searches for some loopholes in the operating system to be installed on the PC and act consequently. These are generally known as malicious dialers and can be identified from the following characteristics:
1.Download starts as soon as the site in opened.
2.Download carries on even if cancel or cross button is clicked.
3.Such dialers create the default net connection without informing.
4.Nothing related to prices are informed before Dialing.
5.It cannot by easily removed despite having powerful anti-spam wares.
Auto dialer:
An auto dialer can also be an effective electronic device like dialer that instantly dials telephone numbers to establish connections between two telephone numbers, mobiles and pagers. If the connection is established correctly with no error then there may be transmissions of data and messages via digital signals. The advanced technology used in this kind of dialer is that it can detect human user and automatic responding machine. This is required as no clues or signal is sent by the answering machine though the device needs to know the incoming source to allow such a prediction, however in general, it is not always perfect, a few error may occur occasionally.
