Ipod TouchPhone

Since the Fellas over at TouchMods.net have Gotten their Mod Mic and SIP Voip app working, and SoonR has a way of making skype available through safari, it’s time to make the Package ergonomic and functional. I designed this in hopes that someone out there with the means could build it.

Can i use the 8GB iPod touch to make calls through Skype?!

problem is skype and other voips need to be connected to internet so its not a FULLY functional phone but if you have internet where you go then it works and like 2.75 a month or 12 a year or soething idk really cheap though

what you may have seen is 1 of 2 things. Walmart has “protective Sleeves” which allows you to keep scratches off the delicate glossy surface. Also Belkin has a sleeve but it is to make “Gaming” easier for the thumb. This Sleeve is for converting your iPod (not iPhone) into a wireless VOIP Phone. If you did spot this at walmart, personal message me the link so I can see what you are talking about. Thanks

Where to buy? Should be available soon. Until it is, I can’t say who is doing it. How much? I don’t know until its out of testing and on the shelves. Why so expensive? don’t know how to answer that when the product isn’t even available yet.

This is already underway. Hang tight.

I fully agree. I think this should seem like it came stock with the Ipod.

If you visit Touchmod’s wiki page you will see they updated it with someone named Ben who did this very thing.

make this out of high quality materials and manufacture it as good as the iPhone itself or forget about it :/

nice idea. it would be nice if you add another earphone jack at the bottom.

I think the frame should be all around it or from the back instead of the sides. It’ll make it more appealing as the sides make it more larger than it already is. take advantage of the thin demensions of the ipod touch.

VERY NICE HOW MUCH? pretend i said that in the Borat voice

My sentiments exactly. A Second Third-Party has taken it upon himself to try and create this. So The race is on for final product.

  • vbstudios

Ha! Thanks for the compliment. I have updated the model to include clip/clasps at the connection point. I got it over to Touchmod a few weeks ago. Cheers

disreguard what i said i did not see it sliped over the ipod sorry.

Thats probably the tightest thing for the ipod touch yet. nice design very simple the only problem i see is that when you put your ear up to it the top would slide away put a bar behind it that attaches to the bottom or a plastic stick next to the plug that goes into a hole im the other side if this problem is alredy resolved disreguard what i said. but really good design and good luck with it! :)

’cause I fricken hate AT&T. I’d rather blow 400 bones upfront instead of give more money to that dreaded company. I had their service already. Don’t get me started. You’ll notice at the end of th spot I have AT&T covered by the crossed out sign.

why yould you spend $300 on an ipod plus like a $100 atachment when you sould easly get a $200 iphone
