Sprint has recently announced the release of SIP Trunking, on a general availability basis, to business customers. The service will be operated over its existing MPLS Global service which uses one IP based connection to carry voice, data and video services. The SIP service will provide the benefit of reducing voice call costs and other closely related telephone calling services.
Paget Alves, President of the Sprint’s Business Markets Group said “The advantages of SIP Trunking are in its flexibility and scalability, leveraging the power of Sprint’s Global MPLS network,” he followed with “SIP Trunking is critical to delivering more value to our business customers because it eliminates the costly local trunks a business would need to purchase from local telephone companies and allows them to share capacity over one IP connection for multiple locations and applications.”
