The new 135 gram touch screen Nokia N8 is an awesome new smart phone that should give their competitors a run for their money . The details Nokia provides is a standard talktime of 5.5 hours on 3G and a standby time of 400 hours .
The phone includes a 12 megapixel Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash camera which can shoot in high definition video, this combined with the 720p resolution it is able to deliver un-matched quality and definition when compared to other mobile phone cameras .
The phone has a HDMI port which allows you to connect your phone directly into your TV or monitor and watch movies from the phone. There is no need to transfer data between devices. The phone package also includes the HDMI cable .
The need to transport data is also covered with the memory capacity of the phone – standard it includes 16GB of memory and this can be increased to 48GB with a microSD card.
The N8 can play back video in several formats, including MP4, Real Video and H.264.
The new Symbian 3 operating system has been improved drastically and is far superior than previous versions .
The phone includes voice-guided free. Simply enter where you want to go and Ovi Maps with voice guidance will tell you how to get there, turn by turn. By car or on foot.
On-demand Web TV allows you to access TV channels like CNN and National Geographic and get them piped to your phone from the comfort of your bus seat. There are a number of other channels available from the Nokia OVI Store.
The phone also allows to differentiate your home screen set-up dependant on your requirements. So if you need certain applications to be readily available during your working week you can set that up fairly easily and then also have all your favourite free time applications set up on a different theme .
Nokia’s bundled web browser is finally good enough that you don’t need to downloaded a third party browser, such as Opera. The N8 supports multitouch, so you can pinch your fingers to zoom in and out of web pages.
People can update their status, share location and photos, and view live feeds from Facebook and Twitter in a single app directly on the home screen
The N8 has a 680MHz processor with a graphics accelerator, a 640×360-pixel, 3,5-inch capacitive-touch screen, assisted GPS, and 3G with high-speed packet access. The camera, which protrudes from the back of the device a little too much for our liking, features Carl Zeiss optics and has a bright xenon flash.
